Here is another picture of the now deceased wasp which tried to set up home outside of my back door.People at work asked me what kind of telephoto lens I had to get such a great shot of this pesky creature and they were aghast when I told them I used a point and shoot digital camera close up to the subject.
Yes, I told them, I climbed a 16 foot ladder and held my camera six inches from the business end of a wasp as it was making a nest and then pressed the shutter release.
I guess I'm just not phased by insects, not even stonking great big ones like this, and of course I know I have no problem with anaphylactic shock so up the ladder I went - fearless, or was it just sheer stupidity. You decide!
