There is something fishy here ...

Sadly Mrs Ted is not a fan of seafood and therefore is unable to appreciate Ted's latest find, a sushi restaurant, in the local vicinity.

Ted brought a small take out sample home this evening and found it most enjoyable. Little Ted asked to try some but played with it just a tad too long so it ended up "accidentally" in the dog!

The dog has discerning tastes and appreciated the addition to his diet.

Stormy weather and bilge pumps

Ted accompanied his Uncle Dick to the boat dock today after the thunderstorm to bale out excess water from his boat. Goodness knows how marine engines ever work given that they seem to sit permanently in a tub of water! Perhaps it's just as well the boat has a sail since the engine didn't look like you would want to rely on it in a life or death situation.
This experience has not dampened (pardon the pun) Ted's enthusiasm for acquiring a boat; after all his idea of a boat differs somewhat from this model in that he is only after a small fishing platform in which to potter about Little Bay.

And so to lunch

After all that "open tummy" surgery these two performed today you might think that they would not have an appetite for lunch. WRONG! They, of course, wanted to be taken to the currently banned "M" place but Ted would not be coerced. Instead we settled on Whataburger and ate inside just for a change. Ted thinks he may not choose that option again but then he is a bit of a fuss pot.

Magical Fairy Princess

As I was backing out of the drive this morning I noticed this "wand" attached to the truck roof lining; gosh, I wonder how that could have got there?
When I arrived at work I noticed the flag flying in the strong breeze. You can't really tell from this picture but the right hand edge of that flag is in tatters. The reason I mention this is that a colleague and I had noted that the flag was replaced in early February. At the time we remarked that the old flag was badly frayed and wondered how long a flag lasts in the sea breeze. Well now we know - approximately 2 months!

Baseball? I'm just here for the hotdogs and soda!

Tonight was Little Ted's night at the ball game.
Eddy came too but her interest was directed more towards the available culinary treats.
Nevertheless she did enjoy the atmosphere at the game and, along with her brother, had a good evening out watching the Corpus Christi Hooks in operation.
Mind you I suspect that they had as much clue as to what was going on as their daddy had - which was not much!

Eddy earns a trip to the Donut Palace

Ted and Dr Johnson were due to meet with their pals Buddy and Bella at 7am and Eddy asked if she could come too. To Ted's surprise she was up and ready to go; maybe it had something to do with Ted's suggestion that they visit the Donut Palace after walking the dogs!
Anyway Eddy came with us to the ballpark and visited with Buddy and Bella and then went with Ted and Johnson to buy breakfast at the Donut Palace. She got to choose the donut she really, really wanted AND also chose for her brother and mother. Notice from the photograph that climbing is still on Eddy's agenda!

Of fish and fowl ...

Little Ted goes fishing on Little Bay and Johnson goes swimming in the Bay.
We also saw dolphins swimming just off the dock which was quite exciting.
Pictures of everything except the dolphins can be seen here entitled Aquadog.

Who do I know in Stafford?

Ted lived in Sutton Coldfield once but who does he know in Stafford? It's a mystery to him!

Just when you thought it was safe to go out the back door ...

... a darned wasp starts building a nest at the front door!
Well this one got squashed PDQ but not before recording it for posterity:

Superglue for a super gal

Eddy got a gash in the leg tonight and so made a visit to the Emergency Room where the medical staff determined that she could be glued together again rather than suffer the more painful option of stitching her together. Boy was she relieved to hear that news!

"That's all I have to say about that"

Here is another picture of the now deceased wasp which tried to set up home outside of my back door.
People at work asked me what kind of telephoto lens I had to get such a great shot of this pesky creature and they were aghast when I told them I used a point and shoot digital camera close up to the subject.
Yes, I told them, I climbed a 16 foot ladder and held my camera six inches from the business end of a wasp as it was making a nest and then pressed the shutter release.
I guess I'm just not phased by insects, not even stonking great big ones like this, and of course I know I have no problem with anaphylactic shock so up the ladder I went - fearless, or was it just sheer stupidity. You decide!

And so now Ted knows for sure - it's not just Little Ted!

Last night we went to another T-ball practice session and, as if it needed to be confirmed, Ted realized that all the kids were confused and unable to act upon simple instructions such as "run to first base"
The coach might as well have been shouting instructions to decline Latin verbs given the success of his efforts. (no offense intended)
It's just that 5 year olds, especially in a group, are just not capable of precise interpretation of instructions. They were all having great fun, as were the parents, but as for playing T-ball by the rules - well, no!

A work of art ...

... but not outside my back door thank you very much.
One has to admire the industry of insects but when a big stingy thing sets up home on your patio it just has to be removed. If Johnson could climb ladders he would have helped but since he can't it was left up to Ted!

Little Ted's first T ball game

Saturday in the midday heat and Little Ted got to participate in his first game. He had lots of fun and it was hilarious watching all these little kids trying their best to follow the rules of the game.
More pictures here entitled T-ball.

Little Ted in his baseball kit

Let's just get this straight now Little Ted. The family room is not a baseball field!
But you know, he is just so excited about taking part in his first real sport, what can you say when he is running back and forth enthusing about it:-)

Little Ted's game lives up to his expectations

Little Ted has been very excited this last week ever since he got hold of a bunch of baseball gear kindly donated to him by a friend. He has been skipping around the house in a highly excited state looking forward to his first T ball practice.
This took place on Monday and, thankfully, lived up to his expectations. He had a great time and is looking forward to going back on Friday.
