Finally

At last breakfast is here and I just heard the waitress tell potential new customers "breakfast is off, we've sold everything"
What a frickin disaster this place is, goodness knows how long it will take me to pay the check!
So much for our carefully planned Saturday schedule; guess there's always next weekend.

Verdict

45 minutes later and still no breakfast. Both kids have gone thru a whining phase and are now playing under the table.
This place is full of winter Texans who, presumably, have all the time in the world and are nearer 80 than 8 so don't whine and complain.
How long can it take to cook 2 eggs and a pancake for crying out loud!
Guess I won't be coming here again - The Soda Shop, Fulton, Texas, only for people with infinite patience and no children.

The Soda Shop

Eddy asked to have breakfast today at the Soda Shop in Fulton. Where did she hear about it - who knows but we'll try it anyway.

Good friends are hard to find ...

... and when you find them you need to keep them.
Here are Ted's good friends who took him out to dinner tonight to celebrate his new job.

Main Course

Red white and bleu filet.
Yummy

Dinner Party

OK so, the photographic capabilities of the Blackberry are limited in dark restaurants, but here is a picture of my good friends celebrating my move to a new job.

Parting is such sweet sorrow

But alas the day has come and Ted must leave the Evil Empire and his BFF Wee Jeanie and head to Gotham City in pursuit of his new career. Not too sure about that analogy as it would cast Ted as Robin the boy wonder and he doesn't look good in tights (We know this from his participation in the local school pageant when he was 11 years old - just in case you were wondering)
Anyway, this morning Ted gave all the girls at work a yellow rose; Wee Jeanie got a bunch of them but then she has been Ted's BFF. Everyone was sad, including Ted, but life goes on and when one door closes another opens.

Chicken with various types of rice and couscous accompanied by copious quantities of wine.
The rum cake dessert was a spoon too far for Ted but Mrs Ted managed to indulge.

The Princess and the Gargoyle

Saturday continues with a trip to the bank to deposit allowance money; Ted is always suspicious when the kids want to put their money in the bank and then go shopping. Who, do you suppose, will be paying for their purchases?
Anyway, Little Ted wanted a picture taken of him "being" a gargoyle so here is that picture - scary, huh?

21st Century Pharmacy

I went to refill my prescription this morning and thought that Patricia was being unusually chatty; usually when I hand over the prescription she runs off to fill the bottles but not today. And then I noticed this big machine and heard it whirring. A couple of minutes later it spat out two bottles with my name on it - she had entered my details into the computer and hey presto out came my pills. All very impressive and gadgety.

Friday DQ

Met up with Buddy for breakfast before heading to Leakey; Ted doesn't usually get to have photos taken with the kids but today Buddy obliged and shot the three of us.

Little Ted has started to take some responsibility for dog walking. Miss Molly is a good training dog for him; Dr Johnson is still too strong for him to handle.

Bad Ted

Caved in and let the kids choose McDonalds for lunch. They are ecstatic; plastic food, a rubbish toy, and the ability to exchange germs with other snotty nosed kids whilst playing on the climbing equipment which is sanitized how often?
Oh well, at least they ate and are having fun.
