Now that all the wrapping paper is off we can get down to the serious business of investigating every present.

Christmas lights

I expect this picture is out of focus but here it is anyway just to give an idea of our festive decorations.
I'm fixin to take more pictures of a better quality but you never know.

Hit and run

Little Ted needs some vehicular control instruction!

Fort Recovery

Eddy had a 102 fever last night and still doesn't feel well today.
When she is unwell she makes a "fort" and hides inside.
You probably can't see them in the picture but she is blowing bubbles from within her nest.

Christmas haircut

After breakfast we set off to the barber.

Growing up fast

Eddy proclaimed her age to be 44 this morning at breakfast.
First we walked the dogs around the park; Ted took Dr Johnson and Little Ted took Miss Mollie while Eddy cycled around in the opposite direction. Then it was off to DQ for our usual Saturday breakfast treat.

Starbucks

If you cannot find the Starbucks your GPS insists is there in San Antonio then look inside the nearest big store - there it will be like this one hiding inside Target!
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

San Antonio development

It seems to me that SA is not anticipating any problem with a recession. Not judging by the amount of house and shopping village building that is going on here anyway
They also seem to be making an effort to save trees although I'm not too sure how successful this particular attempt will be.

Tires and the Evil Empire

Oh so many similarities from:
"Welcome to ..."
To:
"Would you like the extended warranty"
Plus an unconscionable amount of high five-ing from the employees as they clock up the sales.
"A nail in your tire sir, I can help you with that"
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Hurry up ...

... Says Mrs Ted.
Apparently I don't drink margaritas fast enough!
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Lunch - food

Shrimp pasta for me Cobb salad for Mrs ted.
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Tipple time

Thankfully it is after 12 noon and I won't be driving anymore today. Mrs Ted said she would drive 'cos it's my birthday:-)
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Usually Ted likes iced tea at lunch ...

... But, whose birthday is it today?
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Bass Pro shop

This is one big shop full of stuff that Little Ted would just need to have if he were here.
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

And so to lunch ...

... Well, Ted's luck with nails and tires continues. Too near the tire wall for safe repair so now we wait for delivery of a new Pirelli matching tire and must return to the shop later.
Lunch then will be had here and while we wait for a table we can browse in the Bass Pro shop!

Sams Club

Just as well the kids are not with us or we might need to buy something.
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Tire time

1.5 hours to fix a tire but we don't mind 'cos Sams club is on the next lot!
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Saturday breakfast

Late start at 9am but hey, we're on vacation.
First on the agenda - get the tire fixed then head on down to the riverwalk, or not. Mrs Ted will not give me a definitive answer beyond the tire shop.

Dessert

Chocolate of course. Well Mrs Ted ordered it and we all know about her and chocolate!

Dinner at 29•Brix wine bar

After our traumatic journey we finally delivered kids and dogs to our cousins and set off in search of dinner. We stopped off at World Market to buy some of Ted's current favorite wine at $1.28 per bottle less than Walmart and the checkout assistant actually asked Ted for his drivers license. Poor delusional boy!
So, on to dinner where we chose to have Greek salad and spinach salad followed by a margherita pizza split between us. These people know how to make pizza!
Oh well the day has ended happily on a full stomach and tomorrow we fix the flat so Ted can relax again and not worry about nails on the pavement.
By the way Ted has now had more flat tires in 2 years in Texas than in 36 years driving in Scotland - go figure.
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Flat tire

Don't know what happened with the last photo but here is one showing Ted changing the tire with the help of his two trainee mechanics.

Destination at last

Oh poo

We picked up a nail in the rear tire; we will be slightly delayed!

Rest stop on 37

Only 60 more miles to San Antone.
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Traffic jam

Perhaps 37 from Corpus was not the best choic0e today.
Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone with SprintSpeed

Lunch from Wendy's in Portland

... And an essential stop at Starbucks.
San Antonio here we come.

Breakfast

The Donut Palace, Aransas Pass.
One pig in a blanket and a chocolate Clair - yummy.
