Ted and his children.

At the 50th Wedding Anniversary Party

Considering that the party was held in a restaurant/art gallery, in a room with expensive breakable objects displayed all over the place, the Ted children were very well behaved and did not even come close to breaking anything.
Of course Ted took an extra blood pressure pill before taking them to the restaurant - just in case :-)
More pictures can be seen here titled Fiftieth

Brittany or Water Spaniel?

Maybe both!

Dr Johnson certainly loves water whether it be the backyard pool or Little Bay, as depicted in this picture, he is keen to dive in.

A voyage of discovery

Another couple of pictures from last Saturday; Daddy showed Eddy how to take a self portrait with the cellphone camera so naturally she wanted to try it herself. When Little Ted saw this of course he too needed to try it. Here are the results of their endeavours.

From last Saturday when we went to breakfast after walking the dogs and visiting the vet.

Where have all the young girls gone ...

Long time passing
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young girls gone?
Taken husbands every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Just you remember Eddy, any potential suitors have to get by daddy first!

A visit to Fulton Mansion

As part of our day out on Saturday Eddy wanted to take her brother to see Fulton Mansion. She had been there earlier in the week with Sea Camp and wanted to share her knowledge.

Eddy and the ham sandwich

Saturday was a day out with daddy while mommy went to Corpus Christi with grandmommy.
This was what both kids ordered for lunch at the Apple Dumpling restaurant while Ted had his usual shrimp salad.

Gone fishin'

A five year old Ted tries his hand at fishing. As I recall, my father instructed me to point at "my catch" for the photograph. I do not actually remember ever catching anything except a cold as fishing is a cold and damp pursuit in Scotland!
Thankfully when Ted and Little Ted go fishing in Texas they are more than likely too hot which, for me, is a much better option.
By the way, I paid more attention today and noticed that I have 24,353 photographs on disk - not the 10,000 stated yesterday. Thank goodness they are digital!

Edinburgh Castle

For no better reason than I found this photograph whilst browsing through my collection of ten thousand or so files and thought it worth sharing.
As you may be able to tell from recent posts Ted is in reflective mood and has been enjoying looking back at his life on another continent in a different century.
But time stands still for no man and we must move on to survive.
Ted has done so and is very pleased with the result. (F150's and cowboy boots - whoo hoo!)

... and another fond memory

Little did I think as a young boy, when choosing a record to play for my mother as she lay in bed with a bad dose of the flu, that I would one day have my very own "Yellow Rose of Texas"
It is strange sometimes how things work out in life but I do have this vivid memory of playing that tune over and over way back then. And now, I'm living in Texas with my very own "Rose"

< She's the sweetest little rosebud that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, they sparkle like the dew;
You may talk about your Clementine, and sing of Rosalee,
But the yellow rose of Texas is the only girl for me. >

Continuing the nostalgia theme ...

... here is today's memory. Another 10 year old image of two "young" people in love. (remember that all things are relative)
This photograph was taken in the Hartree Hotel, Biggar, Lanarkshire with the Hartree hills in the background.
It's hard to believe that it is ten years since Ted and Mrs Ted embarked on their joint adventure!

Ten years ago, in a land far far away ...

... one crazy cousin and two insane new friends pose beside Loch Katrine in Scotland for a photograph taken by another crazy tourist (he was Australian)
Mrs Ted (to be), Ted, and Crazy cousin Paula without whom there would not be an Eddy and a Little Ted and two happy insane people who got married after knowing each other for two weeks - ten years ago!

In God we trust and we have not been disappointed.

You can teach an old dog new tricks ...

... and to prove it here is a picture, submitted by Karen, showing Jenna the "I will chase anything that moves" dog lying peacefully beside a CAT!
I know Jenna is getting on a bit these days but that is still impressive stuff for anyone who knows her.

Fee Fie Foe Fum , Fire Dept Fun

Bud Light tent and a turntable ladder - what fun.
I've no idea what it's all about but it did cross my mind that you could get a good photograph from the top of that ladder - if you had a head for heights!

It's hot in the State of Texas!

The weekend plans were somewhat shot as Eddy had to pay another visit to the ER on Friday night. This time she went with her mommy and grandmommy to Driscoll Kids in Corpus Christi because she was feeling a bit dizzy. Well, actually, she had an accident at the church where an older child was swinging her around held by the hand and foot and got a bit too close to the wall so Eddy got thumped into it and hit her head. Never a happy situation. Although she seemed OK after the event no lump appeared on her head and she did complain of dizziness so it was important to get a medical opinion.
That opinion was "seems fine but monitor her for 48 hours". And so it was that Ted and the kids stayed at home Saturday while Mrs Ted got to go to Corpus on a shopping trip with her Aunt Ruth. Mrs Ted left instructions to feed PB&J sandwiches for lunch so Ted thought he would make them a bit more fun - now you know what the picture is all about.

Gone Fishing (or - duck! children casting)

Eddy tries her hand at fishing. She insisted on accompanying her father and brother on a "fishing trip" Saturday evening and, although nobody caught anything, everyone had good fun and came home happy.
