Japanese Cuisine

As Dr Johnson mentioned April 29th on "toast" there is now a sushi restaurant in the local vicinity.
Ted and Mrs Ted visited it for lunch on Thursday although they both opted for chicken rather than fish; Ted because he is a chicken (about trying new food) and Mrs Ted because she is allergic to seafood. Why, one wonders, did they even go there?
Ted did impress himself with his use of chopsticks!

Boys Night Out

Wednesday, as readers of Dr Johnson's blog will know, is boys' night out. Ted and Little Ted have been meeting up with Buddy and doin' stuff.
Unfortunately this Wednesday Buddy was out of town and so Ted took Little Ted cycling around Rockport and Memorial Park. You might think from his expression that Little Ted was the powerhouse of this cycling combo but Ted is here to tell you that is not actually true! Regardless of who provided the pedal power they both had a fun time and covered quite a few miles as well as trying out some other fitness equipment in the park.

Misk, Jenna, and Karen up the glen

Here is another picture of Jenna sent to me by Karen. Presumably there is some kind of lift gear out of shot somewhere. Otherwise how did she get Jenna up a hill? Maybe Karen carried her, I wouldn't put it past crafty old Jenna to give that a try!

Sleeping beauties

Eddy likes to read herself to sleep
The Plumeria was but a dry stick a couple of weeks ago but has since awoken and bloomed.

Internet widowers - no publicity please!

Ted's sister in law and her partner came down from Houston for the weekend and it soon became obvious that both Ted and Bob sometimes suffer similar situations serving supper to sisters.
Interestingly enough both siblings are using HP products; hmm maybe they have more in common than anyone ever suspected?
BTW that's one of Ted's super salads at the south end of the table.

Old Glory - progress report

Three weeks into the new flag and it seems to be holding up quite well. There is no appreciable damage to the fabric visible from the ground but then it has not been quite so windy this month.

People have been complaining about the lack of blog entries lately; I didn't think anyone actually read this blog but there you go - SOMEONE DOES:-)

A new photo album has been uploaded showing our recent return visit to Port Aransas. We had not intended to go there that day and so were unprepared as far as swimming and post swimming gear was concerned. However that did not stop the kids from having a good time.

Another Jenna picture

This is NOT a picture of an energetic gun dog!
Karen tells me that she had to lift Jenna onto the style, climb over her, and then pose for this picture. Finally she had to lift Jenna down from the style onto the other side of the wall.

Eddy says "I laughed out loud when I heard about this."

Jenna the laid back retriever

Here is a recent picture of dear old Jenna, supplied by Karen, showing that she still likes to sit in the doorway. I guess it means that everyone who comes or goes gets to say hello to her and that's how she always likes it to be.

Little Ted goes to the doctor

On Friday Little Ted was taken to the doctor for a check up just in case he had caught pneumonia too. Neither of them seem particularly poorly as can be seen from these photographs taken of them climbing and larking about in the doctors waiting room.
Little Ted has a runny nose probably due to allergies and Eddy is responding well to her medication.
However the illness from which they are suffering manifests itself in several unique ways. First of all the "patient" can only eat McDonalds or anything consisting predominantly of sugar and secondly, school and church are way too tiring for the "patients" whereas playing on their scooters in the street is therapeutic. Finally the patients can only recover from their illness if they get to do things their way. Anything else results in a horrible relapse with terrible whiney crying behavior.
It seems to be a very child friendly disease!

Talk about fussy eaters

You might think that lunch is a simple meal, especially when the food requested is a sandwich. Well you would be wrong because Ted's children have very specific requirements:
Little Ted wants peanut butter and jelly with no crusts, cut into squares,
Eddy requires crusts on, ham and mayonnaise sandwiches cut into triangles.

Old Glory

In an earlier posting I noted that this flag had lasted approximately 2 months from brand new to tattered remnant of its' former self. Well this picture was taken on the 1st May, the first day this replacement flag was flown, and so I'm going to log exactly how long the sea breezes of Rockport, TX take to destroy "Old Glory"
The original "Old Glory" lasted a lot longer than 2 months and you can read about it here.
